Diabetes mellitus is a major and growing health problem in India. Recent estimates of WHO states that there are about 32 million diabetic patients in India and it is projected that this may reach 80 million by 2030. These figures reflect about the gravity of the situations and number of patients that are going to be blind due to diabetic retinopathy. It is within our power to create an infrastructure to achieve a major reduction of human misery due to visual loss. Time has come to act and draw plans for the identification and evaluation of the retina using state of the art equipment, literally at the patients door steps.

With the blessings of Sri Sai baba, retina research and charitable foundation has envisaged a programme to screen the diabetics for their eye involvement, free of cost on selected Sundays. Sri _Sai Jyothi_____________ diabetic eye screening programme will be functional from 9 am to 1 pm.
